About Me

My name is Mrs. Roder and this is my 28th year of teaching at Lawton-Bronson. I currently teach 3rd grade, but I started the Transitional Kindergarten program at L-B and taught that for the first 8 years. I continue to enjoy teaching LB students and working with our families to prepare students not only for fourth grade, but also for daily decision making to become responsible citizens. I enjoy spending time with my students outside of the classroom too, and try to get to their extra-curricular activities throughout the year.  I get to work with all ages of students after school and in the summer as I teach at the After Bell and Summer Bell programs too.  Some of the fun things that 3rd graders often look forward to and remember are learning multiplication, division, and cursive writing.

Besides teaching, I also enjoy shopping and spending time with family and friends. My husband, Doug and I have 3 children, Taylor-24 at the University of Iowa, Brenden-22 at Ohio University, and Brooklyn-17 a jr. at LB. We spend a lot of our time watching their sporting events like volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.
