Mrs. Lefler

About Mrs. Lefler

I have been married to my husband, Mick, for 28 years and I have 2 sons, Austin and AJ, a step-daughter, Amanda, son-in-law Ben, and 1 grandchild, Reagan. I graduated from Morningside College where I played volleyball and basketball. 2 of those years I was fortunate enough to be named to the All-American basketball team. (It wasn’t 6 on 6!) The past 8 years I enjoyed watching my 2 boys compete in college athletics at Briar Cliff College. Austin in basketball and AJ in track. Now that I am an empty-nester, I like to lounge in my favorite chair and watch my favorite shows, hang out with family and friends, read a good book, and squeeze in an occasional workout. I spent 29 years (1 yr. in 2nd grade and 28 in 4th grade) in the regular education classroom and I am now in my first year as the physical education teacher. I love being in the gym where I get to know all of the kids in the school. Although it is hard memorizing 375 names! I coached volleyball for 3 years at Sioux City North and 3 years coaching volleyball and basketball at Lawton-Bronson. I also coached junior high volleyball for 6 years. My favorite part about coaching was the vast improvement you could see in the kids as the season progressed.

This year I started a challenge called “The Fastest Class Challenge.” We will compete 3 times a year for a trophy and bragging rights! The first one was completed at the end of the first quarter. The Champion

was Ms. Grieme’s 6th grade class. They completed 178 laps around the gym in 5 minutes for a class

average of 10.47 per student!
